USPS Changes Date for Elimination of Global Package Link Service

The U.S. Postal Service is postponing the elimination of Global Package Link, an export service for high-volume shippers.

The elimination, which had been scheduled for April 1, now will take effect April 30. The change will allow customers more time to change their manifesting systems, according to the agency.

A U.S. Postal Service notice published in the Federal Register last year said the agency was eliminating the GPL service because it had not attracted enough customers to justify continuation in its current form.

The USPS had delayed the elimination of the service until April 1 to ensure that GPL mailers could make a transition to other products.
