AmeriCredit Opens Fifth Call Center

AmeriCredit has dedicated its fifth call center, located in Orange Park, FL.

The facility employs 275 people and provides customer support and collections services. Fort Worth-based AmeriCredit said the center will serve its growing client base, which is nearing 1 million customers.

AmeriCredit also operates call centers in Arlington, TX; Tempe, AZ, Charlotte, NC; and Peterborough, Ontario. The middle-marketing automobile finance firm employs about 5,000 people in North America.

Medical Services International, Edmonton, Alberta, will expand its call center operations, run by Teltek International in the British West Indies, by 270 seats.

Medical Services owns 40 percent of Teltek and has negotiated an agreement to increase its ownership to 55 percent. The expansion will be complete by February and bring the number of seats in the call center to 400, Medical Services said. The new seats are expected to add $5 million of revenue per year, bringing the facility's annual revenue to $9.6 million, according to financial projections.

Teltek provides outbound telemarketing services for major corporations in finance and telecommunications and provides direct-response inbound services for home-shopping marketers, according to Medical Services.

Waterfield Mortgage Corp., Fort Wayne, IN, will build a 40,000-square-foot addition to its headquarters facility to house a telesales and mortgage-processing center serving its fulfillment group.

The expansion is expected to produce 200 new jobs in the Fort Wayne area. Waterfield expects to begin filling open positions during the first quarter of this year. The company estimated that the addition would be operational in July. Waterfield received assistance from local economic development authorities for the construction of the addition.
