The Direct Marketing Association's Nonprofit Federation named Xenia Boone its new executive director today. Boone replaces Lee Cassidy, who retired Aug. 30 after nine years as executive director of the National Federation of Nonprofits, which merged with the DMA's Nonprofit Council in July 2000.
Most recently, Boone served as director of government relations and legal counsel for the National Newspaper Association. While there, she handled legislative and regulatory issues and was instrumental in the association's communications efforts, dealing with the media and overseeing production of publications. Boone holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from Temple University in Philadelphia and a law degree, with a specialization in communications law, from the Columbus School of Law at Catholic University in Washington, DC.
