Tension Envelope Corp. opened a manufacturing plant in ShaoXing, a city in eastern China, the company said yesterday.
The plant is the fourth international manufacturing facility launched by Tension, Kansas City, MO, and the first wholly owned by the company. It will manufacture envelopes for use in billing and direct mail by customers including China Mobile, a mobile telephone provider.
Tension's other international operations: Tension Envelope Corp. Taiwan in Taipei, Taiwan; Tension Paper Converters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; and E.S. Wigg & Son Ltd. in Adelaide, Australia. The company has 1,300 employees in 11 manufacturing plants and 35 sales and service offices in the United States.
