United Parcel Service unveiled a new logistics service yesterday to help shipping customers coordinate the activities of their overseas vendors and suppliers.
Supplier Management helps importers get greater control of orders and shipments by managing offshore logistics according to the customer’s instructions and vendor purchase orders, UPS said.
Offered by UPS Supply Chain Solutions, the service provides vendor compliance and order management, global information and distribution management, regulatory compliance and transportation management. In addition, customers of the service can take advantage of UPS’ integrated supply chain solutions, including international trade finance, vendor managed inventory, customer brokerage, network planning tools and the UPS small package network.
UPS debuted the new service at the MAGIC international apparel show in Las Vegas.
