San Jose Magazine Plans Digital Edition

San Jose magazine will debut a digital version of its publication online through a deal announced Friday with RealRead Inc., a provider of software for virtual catalogs.

The monthly magazine will use Fremont, CA-based RealRead’s Uploader Pro software to convert print-ready Adobe Acrobat PDF files into an online format using a graphical interface that doesn’t require training or programming experience.

Once these materials are converted to electronic format, the software arranges the data into an online magazine with added features like page-turning animation, zoom and HTML-linking.

RealRead’s software also includes the Search Engine Visibility feature to let search engines like Google, MSN and others search not only the text within the pages of San Jose’s digital edition, but also the ads.
