Hollywood Reporter’s Web site has unveiled its sixth redesign since its initial creation in 1995. The last major redesign took place in 2003.
New features include site-wide integration of the Reporter’s media industry contact database, streamlined video, easier navigation and the Showbiz 50, a new index of the leading entertainment-sector stocks, updated in real time.
Subscribers will have exclusive access to coverage in the form of news videos. This includes the Reporter’s “Money & Media” podcast and slide show.
The revamped Web site at www.hollywoodreporter.com will also include easy-to-use tool bars and navigation menus. Hyperlinks have been added to increase the reader’s ability to research a topic in-depth and from different angles.
Customized newsletters and e-mail alerts will also periodically give the latest content based on the subscriber’s area of interest. New e-mail products include column and review alerts, a box-office news and charts package and headline indexes of the day’s news.
The new database-driven company profile page offers a view of the industry’s top players and products. It is updated daily.
The pages track top executives, box-office performance and financial breakdowns.
The site will continue to feature its sections Risky Biz, Past Deadline and Reel Pop blogs as well as Martin Grove’s Filmmaker Focus column.
A portal that offers advanced options for advertisers has also launched. It includes ad specs, templates, mechanicals, and plug-ins. Contact information and acceptable media descriptions are provided on the portal as well.
