BPA sees 19 percent jump in consumer magazine applications

Media auditor BPA Worldwide saw a 19 percent increase in consumer magazine applicants worldwide in 2006.

Consumer applications rose to 115 in 2006 from 93 in 2005.

Seventy-six of BPA’s 115 consumer applications worldwide are based in North America. BPA consumer magazine members and applications totaled 540 in 2006.

The auditor’s lineup of consumer applications worldwide in 2006 includes city and regional lifestyle titles, parenting and family publications, entertainment, sport, health, travel and lifestyle magazines and business, technology and computer titles.

Based in Shelton, CA, BPA serves more than 3,000 media properties worldwide. This includes more than 2,000 business-to-business publications, more than 600 consumer magazines and newspapers, more than 300 Web sites, plus events, e-mail newsletters, databases, wireless and other advertiser supported media.

The BPA also serves more than 2,600 advertiser and agency members.
