Super Bowl ads increase sites’ market share of visits

Snickers.com and BudLight.com received the largest market share increase of Web site visits on Feb. 5 following their Super Bowl ads when compared to other brands advertising during the big game, according to online competitive intelligence service Hitwise.

The Snickers site was up 1,478 percent from the week before and BudLight.com was up 656 percent versus the previous Monday.

Anheuser-Busch’s Budweiser.com and Bud.tv more than doubled in market share of visits in the same period.

Revlon.com, up 165 percent, and SalesGenie.com, up 156 percent, were among other top-moving advertiser Web sites in that period.

In addition to Salesgenie.com, GoDaddy.com was another dot-com advertiser that showed the largest increase in market share of visits on Feb. 5, 2007 versus Jan. 29, 2007 at 75 percent.

While the market share of visits to YouTube was only up 12 percent on Feb. 5 compared to the previous week, it was the twelfth most visited Internet domain in the United States.

Super Bowl advertisers iFilm and AOL Sports showed market share increases of 328 percent and 158 percent respectively.
