Joel Davidson has been named president/CEO of cooperative database company NextAction.
Mr. Davidson replaces Karl Friedman, who has been the president/CEO of NextAction since founding the company five years ago. He will continue as the company’s chairman of the board.
Mr. Davidson’s background is in managing companies through the kind of growth that Next Action, Westminster, CO, is expecting. His strengths include traditional media, new media, general management and growing advertising sales.
“As more and more marketers begin to build or try to maximize their direct relationships with consumers, NextAction’s suite of business insight and audience targeting products are perfectly positioned to help advertisers succeed,” Mr. Davidson said.
Mr. Davidson joins NextAction from AOL, where he was the executive vp, global products and technology. Prior to that role, Mr. Davidson led product and technology development for AOL’s subscription business. He has also headed the Netscape, Mapquest, Compuserve, AIM and ICQ businesses of AOL.
Mr. Davidson first day of employment with NextAction will be June 14.
