Every year, DMN identifies the best and brightest female talent in the marketing industry through our Hall of Femme honors. In 2017 we will be honoring a few women to join our illustrious Hall of Femme and will also be naming the next generation of women to watch.
The Marketing Hall of Femme event on April 26, 2017 features a Summit & Awards Program, where attendees can meet the 2017 Breakthrough Women, hear the first-person narratives behind their achievements, and attend educational sessions that explore the issues most relevant to female leaders working in marketing today.

Shelley has gone against the grain most of her career, starting in 2000 when she left the corporate world to pioneer online research. Shelley crated OTX (Online Testing Exchange), which in just nine years became one of the largest and fastest growing research companies in the world. She sold OTX to Ipsos in 2010, where led global innovation in over 80 countries. As the first female chief executive ranked in the research industry’s top 25, she changed the game, brought emotion and passion to the boardroom and has devoted herself to becoming a mentor and friend to women and leaders in her industry. Her most recent endeavors include launching The Female Quotient and The Girls’ Lounge which support and mentor women to find their voice, embrace their feminine leadership powers and work together to transform corporate culture for this and future generations of women.
Michelle Bottomley is a Senior Partner and Mercer’s Chief Marketing & Sales Officer. She is responsible for setting the firm’s global marketing and sales strategy, spotlighting Mercer as a world-class brand, delivering dynamic digital experiences, and enabling profitable growth through world-class sales, client management and marketing.
Emma Carrasco is the first to hold the position of Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President for Audience Development at NPR, one of the country's most iconic news organizations and the producer of highly regarded programs that include Morning Editionand All Things Considered. She brings more than 30 years of experience in marketing, branding, and communications to the role. Carrasco is leading the creation of an audience-centric marketing culture at NPR to bring more visibility and support to NPR and our Member Stations. She is breaking new ground in how NPR cultivates and engages new audiences. Since joining NPR in late 2012, Carrasco has redefined the NPR brand platform, launched an ambitious special events strategy, transitioned the Marketing, Branding, and Communications division into a revenue-generating division, and assumed oversight of NPR's audience development across all platforms.
Mish joined OgilvyOne Worldwide in 2003 to build its first global marketing department and has had a front-row seat to the digital transformation of the marketing landscape. Today she is responsible for the revenue and reputation growth of the agency. She was appointed to the OgilvyOne Worldwide Board in January 2015. During her tenure, Mish has spearheaded a range of initiatives to ensure OgilvyOne remains at the forefront of the digital marketing revolution. She oversaw the launch of OgilvyAmp, the next evolution of the agency’s data offering, and the hugely popular “Search for the World’s Greatest Salesperson,” a campaign that demonstrated the agency’s commitment to growth. She was also the driving force behind the Verge Global Digital Summit series, which swept the world with 40+ events in 20 countries and was widely regarded as the best agency-led dialogue around digital transformation.
Leilani is Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Starr Companies, a global insurance and investments organization. In her role, she leads all strategic branding, marketing, communications and media relations for the organization. Prior to joining Starr, Leilani served as Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for CQ-Roll Call, a division of The Economist Group, and the world’s largest, and most respected, Capitol Hill news source. Leilani has also served as Vice President of Marketing for U.S. & Institutional Business Operations for MetLife, a leading global provider of insurance, annuities and employee benefit programs. Before joining MetLife, Leilani worked 10 years for American International Group, Inc. (AIG), one of the largest international insurance organizations serving customers in more than 100 countries and jurisdictions. She is a Board Trustee for Middlebury College, a premier liberal arts college in Vermont and her alma mater. She is also a Board Member of the Executive Leadership Council, a national membership organization for senior-level African American executives. Leilani holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Middlebury College and a Master of Public Administration in Management from New York University. Leilani is the author of the forthcoming book From Campus to Cubicle: 25 Tips For Your First Professional Year.
Linda is a tactical demand generation expert with over 15 years of experience implementing strategic lead generation marketing programs. As VP of Marketing at Yes Lifecycle Marketing, Linda is instrumental in managing their go-to-market programs and extending reach in the marketplace. Prior to Yes Lifecycle Marketing, Linda was the Senior Marketing Manager at Experian where she was responsible for generating demand for Experian’s Customer Intelligence Platform via strategic multi-channel marketing programs. Before Experian, Linda was the Director of Brand and Field Marketing at Alterian. There, she increased lead generation by 88% by strategically managing go-to-market activities for their lines of business. Linda also grew the leads generated by their monthly webinar series program by 432% globally. With the implementation of an asset deployment strategy, content, such as whitepapers, ebooks, presentations, etc., was repurposed and made more widely accessible via multiple online channels. This was a vital element to the success of Alterian’s inbound marketing strategies, which improved their online footprint and garnered such accomplishments as an 86% increase in blog traffic, 200+% increase in YouTube viewership, 65,000 Slideshare views – which, on its own, collected 330+ leads. Born and raised on the north side of Chicago, Linda needs to be regularly talked off the ledge as she is incessantly tormented by the latest dismal Cubs season, and still hopelessly believes this could be the year.
Jennifer Breithaupt is Managing Director, Media, Advertising and Global Entertainment for Citi. She oversees a team focused on creating and executing high impact programs, unique campaigns and exclusive events that engage Citi cardmembers and drive long-term brand loyalty. For a decade since its inception, Jennifer has led Citi Private Pass, an entertainment access program offering thousands of events annually to Citi cardmembers across music, sports, dining, and comedy. She has driven expansion of Citi Private Pass in the U.S, and is now leading expansion of Citi’s entertainment program internationally. Jennifer has driven innovation to amplify the concert experience and fan engagement beyond traditional means through close partnerships spanning multiple genres. Her team has created and managed some of the most exciting marketing and branded entertainment programs, including access to more than half of the top 100 concert tours for the past few years, record-setting presales for the One Direction “Where We Are Tour”, a partnership with Live Nation and Yahoo! on their music channel, sponsorships of The Rolling Stones’ “50 And Counting Tour” and of Billy Joel’s Madison Square Garden residency, and, in 2015, a new multi-year sponsorship with NBC and the launch of the Citi Concert Series on TODAY.
Romy Newman is co-founder of Fairygodboss. She was formerly Head of Digital Advertising for The Wall Street Journal, overseeing sales, marketing and operations for The Wall Street Journal Digital Network. Previously, Romy helped launch WSJ Magazine, WSJ Weekend, Greater New York, Mansion and the WSJ iPad app. She also has held marketing positions at Google and Estee Lauder, and was a strategy consultant advising leading media outlets. Romy graduated with a B.A. in American Studies from Yale University and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. She is a proud mother of two, and looks forward to helping other women have the same fantastic career experiences – supported by both great female and male colleagues - that she has had.
Tammi Harrison is the vice president of product marketing at Grubhub, the nation’s leading online and mobile food ordering company. In this role, she leads the company’s go-to-market strategy for diner, restaurant and delivery products, as well as the company’s market research function. Previously, Tammi held leadership positions at American Express and two advertising agencies, Deutsch and Lowe. At American Express, she spearheaded the product marketing efforts for the company’s mobile app products, launched their first mobile payments effort and developed a global brand strategy to improve card usage in key industry verticals. Tammi’s breadth of experience includes brand marketing, customer engagement, product development and product marketing. Tammi received an MBA from New York University’s Stern School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Binghamton University.
