Yellow Pages Association Is Group's New Name

The Yellow Pages Integrated Media Association announced a name change yesterday to the Yellow Pages Association.

The switch comes 2 1/2 years after then-president John A. Greco Jr. changed the association's name to include other Yellow Pages media besides print directories. The old name, until April 2002, was the Yellow Pages Publishers Association.

Greco became president/CEO of the Direct Marketing Association on Aug. 16.

Founded in 1975 as the National Yellow Pages Service Association, the organization is the trade body for the $26 billion global print and online Yellow Pages business. It also represents certified marketing executives and industry suppliers.

As part of the name change, an ad campaign breaks later this month to promote the new logo and site at www.ypassociation.org. A contemporized version of the “Let your fingers do the walking” imagery with computer screen and cursor will be featured.

The ads will run in advertising and marketing trade publications.
