Yahoo, Return Path form partnership

E-mail deliverability services firm Return Path has partnered with Yahoo Mail to extend its anti-spam feedback loop service to Yahoo Mail.

Under the terms of the agreement, Return Path will monitor Yahoo spam complaints and create anti-spam feedback loops to help track e-mails that have been flagged as spam. Yahoo will send these spam complaints, via feedback loops at http://feedbackloop.yahoo.net/, to legitimate commercial senders to help them address the issues for Yahoo Mail users.

“This is good for everyone,” said Alex Rubin, VP Business Development at Return Path. “The ISP gets less spam at the end of the day, the senders get good feedback on what not to send and the consumers get their say on what is spam and what is not.”

Yahoo also will now consult with Return Path’s Sender Score Certified as one part of its e-mail filtering process.

With this new Yahoo Mail partnership, Return Path adds to its existing feedback loops for Internet service providers (ISPs), which includes Comcast, Cox, USA.net and Mailtrust.

“The Yahoo partnership is good for Return Path, because it gives our server more data, which helps us judge senders,” added Rubin.
