Yahoo, Santa Clara, CA, said yesterday it would launch a directory of business-to-business online marketplaces.
The new site Yahoo! B2B Marketplace will feature more than 48,000 initial listings in more than 650 categories.
The site will feature research and comparable price information, as well as links and online business news broken down by industry.
“Yahoo! B2B Marketplace brings businesses of all kinds together by allowing business executives, small companies and entrepreneurs to efficiently sift through many different Web sites, marketplaces and buying formats on the Internet to quickly find and purchase products they need to run successful enterprises,” said Tony Surtees, Yahoo’s vice president and general manager of the commerce group.
