Yahoo Canada recently launched a French-language version of its Internet destination because of its growing audience in Quebec.
E-mail subscribers in the province had grown to more than 1.4 million as of September, according to the Montreal-based division of Yahoo Inc. The French-language site can be located at http://francais.yahoo.ca.
The offshoot offers basic content channels such as sports and weather as well as local, national and international news. The destination also offers personalized content services that allow viewers to select the type of information that is offered daily at their home page.
Advertisers that have signed up for the site include Ford, Desjardins, Travelprice, The Canadian Farmers Bureau, Canada Newswire and IBM.
