The Extreme Football League's Los Angeles Xtreme yesterday formed an agreement with goZing.com to drive goZing's network of wireless device users to www.losangelesxtreme.com to buy tickets.
GoZing, a permission-based wireless direct marketing company based in Encino, CA, will send text ads via wireless devices — including cell phones, personal digital assistants or alphanumeric pagers — to 6,000 members in Southern California before home games.
“We have a network of people who are receptive to receiving certain types of promotions that we can then have an advertiser reach by demographic, geographic territory and time of day as well,” said Jeff Hirsch, chief sales and marketing officer at goZing.
GoZing's 100,000 members sign up to receive promotional information via their wireless devices in exchange for Zing coins, which can be redeemed for cash or products.
Users will not be able to buy Xtreme tickets from the GoZing promotions, Hirsch said. Hitting “Send” on their phones from the GoZing message, however, connects users with Ticketmaster, where they can order tickets.
