Wunderman's David Sable Moves to Europe

Wunderman promoted vice chairman David Sable to president of its Europe Middle East/Africa region, the agency said yesterday.

Keeping both titles, Sable will oversee the agency's 39 offices in 27 countries with major regional accounts like Ford Motor, Citibank, Microsoft, Unilever and Lufthansa. Moving from New York to London, he will continue to manage major client and partner relationships at Wunderman.

“What I hope to be able to do is provide some center to [the Europe Middle East/Africa region],” Sable said. “The whole notion of regionality is becoming more important in Europe. There are way more companies looking at regional plays in Europe today, but Europe is not a homogenous region.”

The post was vacant for two years. Stewart Pearson was the last incumbent.

Sable joined Wunderman four years ago, leading its flagship New York office and its staff of 500. Before that, he was executive vice president and director of account management at Young & Rubicam New York. Young & Rubicam Brands owns Wunderman. Both agencies are part of London-based agency holding company WPP PLC.
