Williams-Sonoma Sees Double-Digit Revenue Gains for Q4, Year

Net revenue increased 12.1 percent to $1.21 billion for Williams-Sonoma Inc.'s fiscal fourth quarter while comparable-store sales rose 5.8 percent in the same period, the company said yesterday.

The San Francisco-based multichannel home decor merchant also said its Q4 direct-to-consumer net revenue climbed 14.1 percent to $457.5 million. Internet revenue in the period increased 35.7 percent to $242.5 million. The company estimates that 40 percent of its companywide non-gift registry Internet revenue is incremental to the DTC channel and 60 percent is driven by customers who recently received a catalog.

Diluted earnings per share for the quarter rose 7.4 percent. Net earnings increased 6.2 percent to $120.8 million.

The company also reported that fiscal 2005 net revenue jumped 12.8 percent to $3.54 billion. Same-store sales rose 4.9 percent for the year. DTC net revenue for the year increased 13.6 percent to $1.51 billion. Internet revenue climbed 36.5 percent to $766.3 million.

Diluted earnings per share for fiscal year 2005 increased 13.1 percent while net earnings for the year were up 12.4 percent to $214.9 million.
