WideRay Launching Rich Media Server for Mobile Devices

Mobile technology company WideRay is expected to introduce a server that will allow rich media content to be beamed to mobile devices.

The San Francisco, CA-based business said its new Jack M2 mobile caching server delivers on-location content and real-time transactions over a two-way nationwide wireless network to hand-held devices.

“For the consumer, this means instant access to personalized rich media, live data feeds, real-time inventory, promotion and ticket redemption, and the ability to perform transactions with an ordinary hand-held device,” said Saul Kato, CEO of WideRay.

In addition, businesses can use the technology for remote site data collection and transactions.

Current WideRay customers and partners include Land Rover, Motorola, Palm Computing, San Francisco Giants, Stanford University and Worldcom.
