Why Not Personalize the DM News Web Site?
I was just catching up on my DM News reading today and noticed Tad Clarke's editorial (“All the News That Fits,” Feb. 1) about the reader who requested a “news-only” format on your Web site. I personally like access to everything. But have you considered allowing visitors to personalize the Web site or, offering different versions?
I believe certain search engines let you do that for news coverage. I'm not a Web designer or programmer so I don't know how this would be done, but I bet it wouldn't be too difficult. With everybody's time so pinched the way it is, to have a few well-considered options available would be much appreciated. And, from a bottom-line perspective, a few good options might increase your traffic even more.
