Who do you want to be?

It’s official.

After years of water cooler kvetching, months of speculation about a possible move and weeks spent wondering whether it was actually true, we now know. Wunderman, along with all our Y&R brands sister agencies, is moving to 3 Columbus Circle.

The new building is actually an old building that is being totally refurbished. Right now, it is stripped back to the concrete inside, but it already boasts a state-of-the-art glass façade and the interior refit promises to be equally sharp.

3 Columbus Circle gives us a new start, a better environment and a great big headache.

Why? Well, it’s easy to complain about what you don’t like in an office space. But it’s considerably harder to create a new one that you love. As any artist, novelist or agency creative will tell you, a blank sheet of paper is a frightening thing.

We’re not just creating a new office space for the agency. To a large degree, we’re defining the agency. Our new space will determine how we work together, how people perceive us and who we are as an agency. It’s a serious and exciting challenge.

This series of blog posts will chart our story over the next months as we move Wunderman New York forward into its new home.

Nick Moore is chief creative officer and EVP at Wunderman New York.

This is the first installment in a four-part series.
