Which trademark would Jesus steal?

Catholic schools’ computer labs across the country have a new mandatory homepage!

This morning my Google Alert, well, alerted me to something very interesting: CatholicGoogle.com. The site is, on first glance, exactly like Google. It shares the same font, color scheme, and homepage layout. The motto is “The best way for good Catholics to search the web.”

While the site is powered by Google’s SafeSearch technology, it is “not associated or affiliated with Google.com,” according to the site’s disclaimer.

Search results, predictably, come up with the Catholic-slanting answer to the query–most of the time. For example, if you search the term “drugs” among the top results is the National Catholic Council on Alcoholism and Related Drug Problems.

I, like many bloggers, can’t see this site staying up very long, at least with the same imagery. Wasn’t there a commandment about this kind of stuff?
