IMakeNews has launched its Web site designed to help small- to medium-sized firms and organizations build e-mail newsletters.
The newsletter service will take orders consisting of e-mail lists that must be between 1,000 and 10,000 addresses and will cost from $29.95 to $199.95 per month — depending on the extent of the job.
The lower-priced offering features basic templates and limited content. On the other end, the higher-priced service offers more content options as well as rich media features. Companies can also order streaming video for extra setup and bandwidth fees.
When arranging content for their newsletters, firms can use their own material or purchase articles at iMakeNews.com. The Web-based company has signed agreements with publishing firms Custom Communications and Internet Wire to supply content, and plans to sign other similar deals.
The Web site has been saving Profit Systems Inc. more than $2,100 each month since the account management systems firm dumped its former newsletter service provider and starting using iMakeNews.com, according to Jeff Mesnik, vice president of marketing and sales at iMakeNews.com, Newton, MA.
Mesnik said the newsletters will generate revenue by creating repeat customers.
“Newsletters have been the most effective marketing tool since the beginning of time,” he said. “They do an excellent job of keeping [your firm] out in front of people.”
IMakeNews also offers a follow-up survey service that is organized in an activity report that allows companies to see what kind of articles are receiving the most positive and negative attention.
Technically, the newsletter system can adapt to e-mail recipients' hard drive capabilities by reading the computer's faculties and presenting the content in HTML or plain text.
