Watch John Oliver hilariously rip apart native advertising

John Oliver has had enough of native advertising, and on last night’s episode of Last Night Tonight with John Oliver, he launched a gleeful attack on the entire practice.

Although he singled out Buzzfeed for being pioneers, Oliver also called out major news outlets such as The Atlantic and The New York Times for refusing to accept that they could be deceiving readers with native ads.

Watch the 11-minute video below to see Oliver compare native ads to camouflage suits, Twizzlers and raisins in chocolate chip cookies. It’s a thought provoking segment that definitely raises more of a moral conundrum for journalists and editors instead of the marketers behind the ads.
