Washington Post Launches Quarterly Catalog Insert

The Washington Post has introduced Shop By Post, a quarterly catalog supplement inserted into the Washington Post Magazine.

According to sales representative Kathleen Rothenberg, the idea for the unique catalog supplement was based on staff member input.

“Our first one out-of-the-box was last October,” she said, “We were very happy with it. The timing was good for our advertisers too … and we used their input when we decided to come back with four issues for this year.”

Shop By Post's 1999 season includes planned supplements built around a garden feature for March 7, Spring Home & Design for April 25, a Fall Home & Design special for Oct. 3 and another holiday issue slated for Nov. 7.

According to the company, Washington Post readers earn an average household income of more than $80,000 with 65 percent holding professional or senior level executive positions.

The Washington Post is part of the Washington Post Co., Washington, DC, a diversified media organization specializing in newspaper and magazine publishing, broadcasting and cable television systems.
