W.A. Wilde Grabs CPS Staff, Clients

W.A. Wilde Co., a leading direct marketing services provider in New England, snared a set of prestigious accounts along with new hires from the now-defunct agency CPS Direct.

The Holliston, MA, shop now serves former CPS clients like Dell Inc., Gevity, Great-West Life & Annuity Insurance Co. and Bombardier Skyjet. They come courtesy of six former senior staffers at CPS, which shut in the fall.

“What we're trying to do is to take the base of what we do here at Wilde and expand our core services and penetrate certain vertical industries like high technology, insurance, retail and publishing, as examples,” said Tom A. Wilde, CEO of his family-owned firm.

Of CPS alumni joining W.A. Wilde, Sally Moren becomes the new director of creative and strategy planning and Bruce Waggoner is senior director of account services. Also, Evan Stone will have a key role in creative development.

These staffers and W.A. Wilde will offer the former CPS clients services like strategic marketing, direct mail production and inquiry management.

“[With this offering] we're expanding the integrated marketing unit,” Wilde said.

W.A. Wilde began in 1868 as a publishing company. It now offers strategic account planning, creative development, production services, database management, fulfillment and integrated media research. Clients include Mass Mutual, BusinessWeek magazine, Fidelity Investments, Shaw's Supermarkets, Citistreet and Hewlett-Packard Co.
