Visiting International Faculty Picks Republik

Visiting International Faculty, a Chapel Hill, NC, nonprofit that brings foreign teachers to U.S. schools for grades K-12, has named The Republik as its first agency of record.

The Chapel Hill, NC, agency will handle tasks previously run inhouse by Visiting International Faculty in various countries. The estimated budget for global branding and recruitment advertising is $1 million. There was no review.

Tactics under consideration include direct mail, online marketing and print ads in educational trade magazines and newspapers. Ad conglomerate Interpublic Group of Companies Inc., New York, will assign a house brand to handle Visiting International Faculty's media buying.

Six-month-old Republik adds the nonprofit to a roster of clients that includes Philadelphia law firm Pepper Hamilton, New York firm Palazzetti Furniture, Charlotte, NC-based U.S. Land Investments and Zoom Culture of Chapel Hill, NC.

Visiting International Faculty places 1,700 teachers a year from 45 countries. This staff is recruited via four international offices. The nonprofit is financed by the individual school districts receiving the teachers.

Republik is now charged with marketing at recruiting English-speaking teachers in special education, math, science and general elementary. Future ads will target domestic public school superintendents.
