Many brands are competing for the dollars of working adults and families who have little time or experience in cooking gourmet meals, but don’t want to subside on takeout alone. Of these companies, Blue Apron is the most well known and has the highest valuation. We wanted to explore why.

After examining the company’s email, social media, and website, we found: the brand has a strong multichannel approach to generating new customers and keeping existing ones engaged.

It has a very strong social following, with high engagement, especially on Instagram and Facebook; its email offers targeted promotions; and the website is extremely high on functionality, content marketing, and ecommerce.
