*USPS To Begin New Ad Campaign

ANAHEIM, CA-The U.S. Postal Service announced Sunday that it will launch a new corporate advertising campaign this fall in major media markets that will feature Lance Armstrong, the two-time winner of the Tour de France with the USPS Pro Cycling Team, as he appears on new Priority Mail envelopes and boxes.

The campaign will involve placing ad banners that show new Priority Mail packages featuring Armstrong’s image on 10,000 USPS delivery vehicles. The vans will also bear the slogan “Lance Delivers Again” and the USPS’ Web site address, www.uspscom.

“Our goal is to enhance the corporate brand, while using our valuable assets to advertise our core products, such as Priority Mail,” said John Ward, vice president, core business marketing, USPS.

Vehicles displaying the ads will appear on vehicles in the following cities: New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Detroit, Atlanta, San Francisco, Washington, Miami, Houston, and Austin, TX, Armstrong’s hometown. The signage will be placed primarily on postal long-life vehicles and some two-ton delivery vans.

The campaign was unveiled at the fall 2000 National Postal Forum here.
