USPS Offers Change-of-Address Service on CD-ROM

WASHINGTON — Postal officials at the Mailers Technical Advisory Committee meeting here yesterday said that a U.S. Postal Service program that distributes change-of-address information on CD-ROM is especially valuable to small businesses.

“Small- and medium-sized mailers have been looking for an easy, cost-effective way to receive change-of-address information,” said Charles Bravo, USPS senior vice president of intelligent mail and address quality, “but most mailers in this group do not have the capability to receive electronically transmitted data to update their address files.”

The program, which began Jan. 1, distributes the agency's Address Change Service on CD-ROM, letting mailers view, search and print change-of-address records for manual update to their address files.

For more information, contact the postal service's National Customer Support Center's Address Change Service department at 800/331-5746.
