USPS Expands Test of Biohazard Detection System

The U.S. Postal Service yesterday expanded testing of a biohazard detection system designed to provide an early warning for anthrax.

The four-week test occurs at these USPS mail-processing and distribution centers: Dulles in Virginia; southern Maryland; Albany, NY; Kilmer, NJ; Manasota, FL; St. Petersburg, FL; Tampa, FL; Midland, TX; Los Angeles; Tacoma, WA; Rockford, IL; Lancaster, PA; Cleveland and Pittsburgh.

It also will take place in Baltimore, where the USPS has tested the system for more than 10 months.
