USPS Employees to Use Customized E-Business Network

Epicentric Inc., a provider of e-business network portals and platforms, announced this week that the U.S. Postal Service is using its service to launch a specialized e-business network that will provide its nationwide sales and marketing force with strategic reports, marketing analysis and customer data from any desktop browser.

More than 3,000 USPS professionals will have access to Epicentric’s Market Tracks service, which the company said would cut costs and increase the efficiency of delivering and leveraging marketing and sales resources.

In addition, the USPS is using Epicentric, San Francisco, to provide an online resource for its senior vice presidents to share detailed competitive intelligence information.

“Epicentric's open architecture enabled us to easily build a highly customized resource that will significantly improve the marketing and sales efforts of the entire USPS organization,” said John Gregory, marketing specialist at the USPS. “Our professionals now have instant access to the precise information they need to do their jobs.”

Epicentric's platform solution allows USPS marketing and sales professionals to share and track current marketing report information while providing access to hundreds of marketing reports and abstracts dating to 1993. They can also leverage research from analyst firms such as Gartner Group, Jupiter Communications and Zona; view real-time news feeds from Dow Jones; and study detailed customer information.

USPS marketing and sales professionals, including postmasters from every district, can also personalize the Market Tracks service to provide the resources that are most valuable to them.
