USPS Cancels Spring National Postal Forum

The U.S. Postal Service said yesterday that it has canceled the Spring National Postal Forum, slated for May in Seattle, and will have only one forum next year, Sept. 19-21 in Washington.

The National Postal Forums, combined educational conferences and trade shows, traditionally are held twice a year, in the spring and fall.

“We've canceled the May forum to take a step back and take a look at how the forum is structured so as to bring our customers a bigger, better and improved forum,” USPS spokesman Jerry McKiernan said. “This will be our concentration for the next several months. The next forum will be different.”

McKiernan said that the USPS is always surveying customers “to find out what they want and what they need. And we had a sense from those discussions that we can make this forum better, and more customer-friendly and more thorough and more complete, but we need a little more time to do that.”
