USAToday.com, Forbes.com Fly With New Travel Sites

USAToday.com has relaunched its travel site at www.travel.usatoday.com.

The site combines advice from journalists with reader insight, proprietary trip planning tools and up-to-the-minute travel news and destination profiles.

The announcement comes at the same time Forbes.com launched its new standalone luxury travel site at www.forbestraveler.com. The site is designed to help upscale travelers inspire, plan and book their online travel.

The new USAToday.com design and additional content provides travel consumers with tools that address every stage of their journey.

For those who are just starting to think about a trip, the site has information about national and international destinations. It then gives consumers information about finding the right seat, getting the lowest fares and airline mileage offers when they are ready to book their trip.

Specialized information is given to travelers in mid-journey, such as updates on flight and air traffic delays. Weather information is also accessible.

Once travelers return home, they can share their experiences with other travelers on the site and keep track of their frequent flier miles.

Opportunities for advertisers include sponsorship of the flight center and traveler’s toolbox, product placement and sponsorship of interactive maps and ownership of the new content sections.
