UAL Corp.'s United Airlines and UAL Loyalty Services Inc. arms named Grey Direct as their direct marketing agency this week after a three-month selection process.
The agency's Chicago office will handle communications and DM for United's MileagePlus frequent-flier program. Twelve agencies were considered for the account. Billings were not disclosed.
MileagePlus allows its more than 40 million enrolled members to earn miles when they fly with 10 partner airlines, stay at a hotel, rent a car, buy on the co-branded Visa credit card, shop or invest online, or make a long-distance call. Miles can be redeemed for flights, among other things.
Chicago-based United recently filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection from creditors.
