Marjorie Webb, president of list management firm MGT Associates, Los Angeles, and Mike Bryant, president of list broker Uni-Mail, New York, announced Jan. 30 that the affiliates have agreed to an out-of-court settlement over a lawsuit against Thulin Communications Inc. for an undisclosed amount. The lawsuit, which was filed in 1996, alleged that Thulin, Los Angeles, another list company, was trying to ruin Uni-Mail's business by faxing and mailing material containing false statements about Uni-Mail to its customers, other mailers and list professionals. “We have decided that it's in our best interest to put this episode behind us,” Bryant said. “As far as we are concerned, the entire issue is now over, and we hope that we never have any need to revisit any aspect of this matter.” Uni-Mail also announced the addition of four partners as owners and board members of the corporation: Larry Friedman, Carolyn Woodruff, Jennifer Cuttler and MaryAnn Buoncristiano.
