Twitter traffic booming: comScore

According to comScore, Twitter hit 10 million unique worldwide users in February. Sure this seems like a far cry from Facebook’s 200 million+ users, but consider that in December the microblogging site only had about 5 million users.

Only 4 million of those users were in the US, but that number has also increased dramatically–1000% year over year to be exact. Maybe this is why I’ve been seeing the Fail Whale so often…

ComScore also found that the age group most likely to visit the site is the 45-54 group (48% more likely than the average person). The 18-24 year olds–those who are usually the early adopters of social networks–are 12% less likely than the average person to visit the site.
