Twitter adds pop-up box for real-time notifications from the web

Right after it announced a major redesign to its profile pages, Twitter is adding another feature to jazz up its user engagement.

In the next few weeks, Twitter will roll out real-time notifications for web users of the platform. Now, instead of having to go to Twitter.com to check if you’ve received any replies, retweets or mentions, users will get notified of that activity through a pop-up dialogue box. The box will also allow them to seamlessly reply to a tweet right there and then, without having to go through the extra clicks getting back to the Twitter.com page.
