Verizon spokesman James Earl Jones has taped 30- and 60-second public service announcements for TRUSTe's consumer privacy education campaign, the privacy seal provider said yesterday.
“As we enter into an increasingly connected world, our primary goal is to provide meaningful privacy education for everyone,” Bob Lewin, president/CEO of TRUSTe, San Jose, CA, said in a statement. “We are extremely grateful to James Earl Jones and Verizon Communications for making it possible to bring awareness of this important issue to new audiences.”
TRUSTe and Verizon will distribute the public service announcements to the top 300 radio stations in the United States, and TRUSTe has posted digitally downloadable copies on its Web site.
In addition to the consumer public service announcements, TRUSTe also debuted a privacy poster aimed at educating businesses.
The poster provides information on the Fair Information Practice principles notice, choice, access, security and redress.
TRUSTe hopes all of its privacy seal licensees will display the poster at their offices.
