Transcontinental Gets Print Work With Zoological Society

The Zoological Society of San Diego signed a contract with Transcontinental to install and manage premedia technology and print and distribute about 300,000 copies of its monthly ZOONOOZ Magazine.

The announcement came yesterday from Transcontinental, Montreal, the largest printer in Canada and seventh in North America. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Tools from The Digital Workshop, Transcontinental’s proprietary premedia application, will let the Zoological Society staff customize the publication prior to printing. The first printing using the new application is scheduled for the June 2006 issue.

The Zoological Society of San Diego is a not-for-profit organization that operates the San Diego Zoo, the zoo’s Wild Animal Park and the department of Conservation and Research for Endangered Species. The society is the world’s largest zoological membership association, with 250,000 member households and 130,000 child memberships, representing more than 500,000 people
