Trade Mission to Europe Set for May

With an eye on European expansion, the U.S. Trade Mission for Online and Direct Marketing will sponsor a mission May 7-12 to the United Kingdom, France and Germany. The delegation will be comprised of direct marketers, catalogers, online marketing executives, telemarketers and publishers.

The European market is increasingly important to U.S. companies because of the growth of e-commerce in those companies, the declining value of the dollar relative to the euro and the increase in international sales on U.S. Web sites, according to a trade mission statement.

In each country the delegation will meet with government officials, representatives of the European Community, large European mail-order companies and leading online and direct marketers. In the UK, participants will be guests at the London International Direct Marketing Fair, one of Europe's largest DM events.

Trade mission director Bill McNutt said the delegation will be limited to eight companies. Firms that have participated include L.L. Bean, Collin Street Bakery, Neiman Marcus, Group One Software and Caterpillar Financial.

Interested companies should call 214/443-9494 or e-mail [email protected].
