Tourism Australia selects DDB Worldwide for global creative

Tourism Australia’s has chosen DDB Worldwide to serve as its global creative advertising agency.

The appointment of DDB Worldwide completes a global tender process that began in February 2008. The final two short-listed agencies were DDB Worldwide and Saatchi & Saatchi, both of which participated in in-market reviews.

The process ended with final presentations in Sydney at the end of May. The tender process was conducted in accordance with Commonwealth Procurement Guidelines and was overseen by the Australian Government solicitor as Probity Advisor, and KPMG as Probity Auditor. 

DDB’s effort included work and pitches from DDB Los Angeles, DDB London, DDB Shanghai, DDB Singapore, DDB Sydney and DDB Tokyo.

According to a statement by Geoff Buckley, managing director of Tourism Australia, the tourism organization aims to maximize its global marketing and promotional opportunities in the coming months in conjunction with a new film by Baz Luhrmann, Australia, slated for release this November.

Tourism Australia is currently finalizing the selection of an agency to provide media buying and planning services.
