Topica to offer clients Truste “We Don’t Spam” seal

Online lead generation provider Topica Inc. announced a partnership agreement with online privacy nonprofit Truste, which will allow its clients to ensure their visitors they are adhering to Truste’s privacy standards that exceed CAN-SPAM requirements.

Pre-launch testing suggested that improved user confidence may help grow subscriber lists by 7 percent or more, according to both companies.

Truste’s “We Don’t Spam” seal is visible on the online subscribe form to reassure users that when they subscribe to Topica clients’ lists that the company will honor their privacy.

In order to qualify for a seal, e-mail providers undergo a review process that considers the sender’s e-mail reputation and history, an extensive self-assessment of e-mail practices by the sender and an analysis by Truste.

In addition, businesses that display the seal must agree to Truste’s alternative dispute resolution process, which allows Truste to initiate a negotiation between the individual complainant and the company.

This best practices program will be introduced to Topica’s customers in a Web-based seminar on Tuesday, Dec. 12 at 10 a.m. PST. The company’s customer success management team will provide information to all businesses interested in learning more about the improved privacy standards. Topica and Truste will co-host the seminar.

Topica currently serves over 4,000 clients in 20 countries. The San Francisco-based company is a member of Truste, the Email Services Provider Coalition of the National Advertising Initiative, and the Internet Alliance. It boasts 100 percent compliance with state and federal privacy, permission and anti-spam legislation.
