Here’s one that touched me personally, a Google ad in my native language.
Google released this tearjerker of a commercial, which shows how relatives who were separated from each other during the Partition of India and Pakistan found each other using Google.

The India/Pakistan relationship had been previously mined for a Coca-Cola digital promotion that brought people from the two countries together through a virtual portal. This ad from Google is in similiar territory (“how technology can help bring people together.) but it’s a more dramatic, and emotional look at the troubled history between the two countries.
This is a beautiful, moving ad, and even though the subtitles don’t do it justice, it’s definitely effective.
