Therative picks GolinHarris, Carat Fusion

Therative Inc., a producer of medical products, has hired GolinHarris and Carat Fusion to support the launch of ThermaClear, a new acne-treatment device approved by the Food and Drug Administration.

GolinHarris will work on public relations for ThermaClear. The agency’s San Francisco office will create brand-building strategies, new-product introductions, word-of-mouth marketing, media relations, and acne-treatment and skincare-maintenance communications.

Carat Fusion’s San Francisco office will handle integrated-media strategy and planning. The assignment includes offline and online media planning and buying, direct-response television media services, online display advertising and search marketing. Carat Fusion is part of Aegis’ Isobar digital network.

ThermaClear is a hand-held consumer medical device for the treatment of mild to moderate inflammatory acne. Therative, San Francisco, claims that ThermaClear delivers a controlled burst of heat directly to the pimple. The heat penetrates the skin to neutralize the underlying bacteria that causes the acne.

An FDA-reviewed clinical study shows that ThermaClear safely and effectively clears pimples two to four times faster than those not treated with ThermaClear, according to Therative.
