The Humor Network Scores Deal With CinemaScore.com

The Humor Network, which sends daily e-mails containing jokes to more than 1.7 million subscribers, has signed CinemaScore.com as a customer for its new Optamail division and will deliver weekly e-mails containing movie reviews to CinemaScore's more than 250,000 subscribers, The Humor Network said yesterday.

“Movies and jokes are a nice combination since both provide hours of endless entertainment for consumers,” said Eric Targan, founder/CEO of The Humor Network, New York. “This [partnering with CinemaScore.com] gives The Humor Network and our advertisers the ability to reach a new audience almost overnight.”

The company created the Optamail division late last year to expand its e-mail delivery capabilities beyond its own subscribers. It now offers its e-mail marketing services to other companies.

In addition to sending daily e-mails containing jokes to its list of double opt-in subscribers, The Humor Network runs joke Web sites. The company said it can deliver more than 60 million impressions per month, not including viral forwards.

CinemaScore.com produces a weekly e-mail newsletter that reports audience reactions by age and gender to the latest major studio movie releases.
