Terrorist Attacks Shut R.R. Donnelley Lower Manhattan Shop

R.R. Donnelley & Sons has temporarily shut its lower Manhattan location because of light damage as well as the devastation sustained by much of the financial district in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

All employees have been accounted for at the 75 Park Place shop.

The Chicago-based print production firm hasn't stated when the office might reopen. Financial clients served at the Park Place shop have been encouraged to do business at R.R. Donnelley's 24-hour Manhattan service center at 99 Park Ave.

Meanwhile, the company was quiet on how the events have affected catalog mailings or other direct marketing efforts being planned by its clients.

“I think it's too soon to tell,” said Vera Panchak, director of corporate communication. “The situation is very fluid. What will happen next will be of our customers' requests. It's in the hands of our customers.”
