ETV, Stockholm, Sweden, an interactive television channel, yesterday introduced a ticket sales service labeled eTICKETS via its channel, the company said yesterday.
The service lets consumers buy tickets to more than 1,000 events from soccer to opera using a remote control. ETV's business partners in this new venture include major arenas and events organizers across the country, including the Globe Arena, Gota Lejon, Ullevi, Nordic Artist, EMA Telestar, BiljettDirekt and Ticnet.
Ticket orders via the eTV channel are placed online directly in the ticket database, which the company said handles more than 90 percent of all ticket sales in Sweden. The viewer selects the type of event, city, date, price category and number of seats and receives confirmation on the television screen.
ETV broadcasts music videos, film trailers, travel and entertainment programs and serves as a marketplace for records, films, games and ticket events. The company said its channel will reach more than 1 million viewers in all Nordic countries by late spring.
