Survey: Catalogers’ Online Sales Increase 221%

October and November sales for catalogers grew an average of 221 percent online and 22 percent offline over the same period last year, according to a survey conducted by the Direct Marketing Association. The e-mail survey was sent Nov. 30 through Dec. 2 to 65 catalogers; a total of 19 responded.

“The results were very consistent with our research from throughout the year, including the catalog industry report [released in October],” said Amy Blankenship, director of the Shop at Home Information Center at the DMA. “Although it’s a small sample, since it is consistent with everything we’ve done, we think it’s a pretty good picture of what’s happened so far this season.”
