SuperSig.com Wants To Spread Virally

SuperSig.com will officially launch its customizable “electronic signature” product for consumers on March 1, providing companies with a previously untapped method for companies to market their wares.

SuperSig.com, Venice, CA, is a deluxe version of the automated text signature that many e-mail programs allow users to post at the bottom of their e-mails. It lets users create customized signature boxes.

The company is negotiating with a record label that plans to offer a rich-media version of the product for download. Consumers can add rotating pictures of stars, audio clips and daily tour updates to their signatures. The signatures will also encourage friends and family to “click here” for more information about the artist.

“We’re providing programs for marketers focusing on the hundreds of millions of personal e-mails that until now have been plain vanilla,” said Laurence Roth, COO of SuperSig.com, Venice Beach, CA.

SuperSig.com hopes the use of its product will grow virally among e-mail users. To date, the viral e-mail marketing space has been occupied by offers that allow users to earn points for forwarding e-mails to a friend.

“Marketers are all looking for new tools and ways to extend their brands online. They want to turn members into advocates. SuperSig.com does it in a way that focuses on the consumer’s needs for personalization, fun, affinity and connecting as opposed to making [points] every time you send an e-mail,” said Roth. “Some people like to do that for money, but that’s like wearing a sandwich board to a family get together.”
